Cat’lin Sparrow

Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at I Love Promarkers Blog Challenge #381 that starts today.

The theme for this challenge is to use something square but you must use either promarkers, flexmarkers, aquamarkers or trias on your work.

I have used a digi stamp image from Knitty Kitty called Cat’lin Sparrow (Pirate Cat) digi no 61.

I have used a digi stamp image from Knitty Kitty called Cat'lin Sparrow (Pirate Cat) digi no 61.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

8″ by 8″ White Card
Promarkers
Knitty Kitty – Cat’lin Sparrow (Pirate Cat)
Debbi Moore Designs – Nostalgia Cd
The Paper Boutique Wickedly Wonderful – Love The Bones Of You Die Set
Eno Craft – Pirate Topper Sheet
Square Die –  Large, Medium, Small, Tiny
Star Fish Die
White Card
Blue Card
Kraft Card
Wet Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print off the digi stamp and colour in with promarkers.

The promarkers used were :

Pirate Hat: Cool grey 5, cool grey 4, cool grey 3, cool grey 1, canary, apricot, orange.
Pirate Cat: Cocoa, walnut, pale pink.
Eye Patch: Black.
Peg Leg: Black, umber.
Sword: Apricot, orange, cool grey 3, cool grey 1.
Parrot: Sky Blue, true blue, berry red, poppy, bright orange, orange.
Chest: Terracotta, walnut, canary.
Inside Chest: Orange, bright orange, rose pink, pale pink, satin, blush, cool grey 5, cool grey 4, cool grey 2.
Sand: Soft peach, apricot.
Sky: Cool aqua.

Next from the Nostalgia cd choose and print two papers.

Cut a square from blue card measuring 19.5 cms by 19.5 cms.
Cut a square from one of the papers measuring 19 cms by 19 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Using a large square die and a medium square die cut two squares from one of the papers.
Using foam pads attach to the right of the card base at an angle.

From white card cut a piece measuring 16 cms by 11.5 cms.
Cut a piece from blue card measuring 15.5 cms by 11 cms.
Cut the digi topper to measure 15 cms by 10.5 cms.
Matt and layer the topper to the blue card.
Then matt and layer this set to the white card using foam pads.
Attach to the card base on the left using foam pads slightly over lapping the square die cuts.

Next using the Love The Bones Of You Die Set cut the skull doily die out of white card.
Cut three skulls away from the doily.

Using the small square die cut a square out of blue card.
Using the tiny square die cut a square out of one of the papers.
Matt and layer together and add a skull die cut.
Attach to the bottom left of the topper.

Then using a couple of toppers from the Pirate Topper Sheet add a pirate sign to the top right of the topper.
Add coins to the bottom right of the card base with a couple of the skull die cuts.

To finish cut a couple of star fish out in kraft card.
Attach to the card base.
