Card Base
Using a piece of A4 card score and fold to make a gatefold card.
Next cut a piece of card measuring 23 cms by 10 cms.
Then cut a piece of card measuring 8 cms by 24 cms.
On the longest length of these two pieces of card score and fold 1 cm each end.
Layer one:
Cut a piece from the first coloured card measuring 20.5 cms by 14 cms.
Cut two pieces from the first coloured card measuring 20.5 cms by 6.5 cms.
Using the first insert, cut a piece from the left and right of the insert measuring 20 cms by 6 cms.
Then cut a piece from the same insert measuring 20 cms by 13.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the inside of the gatefold card.
Layer two:
Using the second insert, cut a piece measuring 20.5 cms by 9.5 cms.
Attach to the 23 cms by 10 cms piece of card.
Layer three:
Using the second coloured card, cut a piece measuring 7.5 cms by 22 cms.
Attach to the 8 cms by 24 cms piece of card.
Layer four:
Using the card from layer three, fold the card in half to find the centre.
Then cut out a diamond shape from the centre using a 7.1 cm by 7.1 cm square die.
These pieces will then interlock together.
Layer five:
Next lay the gate fold card flat and place layer four inside, leaving a small gap from the edge.
When you are happy with the position add glue to the 1 cm score sections and close the card.
These will then be both attached to the side panels.
Layer six:
Using a small topper, attach to the inside of the gate fold card just under layer five.
This will be the picture that is seen when the shutter card opens.
Layer seven:
Using the card from layer two, cut out a circle using a 7.5 cms by 7.5 cms circle die.
To find the correct position for the circle, lay this layer onto the inside of the gate fold card to see where the shutter will open.
Layer eight:
Attach the top of layer seven to the inside of the gate fold card.
Interlock layer five together underneath.
Then attach the bottom of layer seven.
Layer nine:
Cut a piece from the first coloured card measuring 3 cms by 5.5 cms.
Matt and layer with the first small sentiment.
Cut a piece from the third coloured card measuring 3 cms by 5.5 cms.
Matt and layer with the second small sentiment.
Cut a circle from the first coloured card.
Matt and layer with the circle topper.
Attach all to the inside of the gate fold card.
Layer Ten:
Cut a piece from the third coloured card measuring 20.5 cms by 14 cms.
Cut two pieces from the third coloured card measuring 20.5 cms by 7 cms.
Using the third insert, cut a piece from the left and right of the insert measuring 20 cms by 6.5 cms.
Then cut a piece from the same insert measuring 20 cms by 13.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the outside of the gatefold card.
Cut a piece from the third coloured card measuring 4 cms by 7 cms.
Matt and layer with the larger sentiment and attach to the front of the gate fold card.
To finish I have added a few small coloured butterflies with silver gems to the inside and outside of the card for a little more decoration.
