Caroling Snowman – Sending You Joy

Today’s handmade card has been created for the challenge at I Love Promarkers Challenge #548.

The theme for this challenge is Anything Goes with the option of Add A Banner.

You must use alcohol markers on your work to join in the fun, any brand is excepted.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Paper Nest Dolls Digis.

For my card I have used one of their digital images called Caroling Snowman.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

8″ By 8″ White Card Base
Paper Nest Dolls Digital Image – Caroling Snowman
Promarkers
White Card
Black Card
The Crafty Witches – Magical Season
Banner Dies
Small pearl beads
Snow Flake Punch
Sparkling Snow Bits
Ink Pads – Versa Color – Cyan, Polar Blue
Black Ink Pad
Sentiment Stamps
White Gel Pen
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the digital image Caroling Snowman twice on to white card.
Then choose and print two patterned papers.

Layer one:
Cut a square from black card measuring 19.5 cms by 19.5 cms.
Cut a square from white card measuring 19 cms by 19 cms.
Cut a square from the first patterned paper measuring 18.5 cms by 18.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 17 cms by 12 cms.
Cut a piece from white card measuring 16.5 cms by 11.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the second patterned paper measuring 16 cms by 11 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base on the left.

Layer three:
Using the first image, colour in the background with the ink pads.
Then colour in the second image, I used promarker pens.

Snowman: Tea green, pastel blue, amber, orange, salmon pink.
Top Hat/Scarf: Duck egg, sky blue, aegean, hot pink, fire brick, pine, holly, crimson, cardinal red, white gel pen, cardinal red, fire brick, duck egg, sky blue,
Bobble Hat/Scarf: Orchid, purple, aubergine, cool grey 1, 3.
Ear Muffs/Scarf: Warm grey 4, 5, almond, caramel, antique pink, ruby, salmon pink, lipstick red.
Buttons: Cool grey 4, 5, lipstick red, salmon pink.
Book: Antique pink, ruby.

Handmade card using a digital image from Paper Nest Dolls called Caroling Snowman

Cut a piece from black card measuring 12.5 cms by 15.5 cms.
Cut the first image to measure 12 cms by 15 cms.
Matt and layer together.
Next cut around the snowmen on the second image and attach to the first image using foam pads.
Add some snow flake pieces and attach to the card base.

Layer four:
Using the banners cut two from black card and two slightly smaller ones from white card.
Then stamp the sentiment stamps on to the white banners.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base using foam pads.

Layer five:
Using the snow flake punch, cut a few out of white card and attach to the first image.
Adding small pearl beads to the centre.

To finish add an insert to the inside of the card base.
