Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog #294

The theme for this challenge is Summer + A Sentiment

You can make any type of project such as a card, tag, scrapbook layout, pocket letter, box etc.

I have used a digital image from Mirtillamente Craft Shop called Crazy Paw: Flamingo Watermelon

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

8″ By 8″ White Card
Mirtillamente Craft Shop Digi Image Crazy Paw: Flamingo Watermelon
Promarker Pens
The Paper Boutique Jungle Fever – Perfect Solid Paper Pad
The Paper Boutique Jungle Fever – Perfect Medley Paper Pad
The Big One Backgrounds Cd-Rom (From Splash Crafts)
White Card
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the digital image Crazy Paw: Flamingo Watermelon on to white card.
Choose two patterned papers and two plain papers from the paper pads. Then print off a sky image from the cd-rom.

Layer one:
Cut a square from the first plain paper measuring 19.5 cms by 19.5 cms.
Cut a square from the first patterned paper measuring 19 cms by 19 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from the second plain paper measuring 19.5 cms by 9 cms.
Cut a piece from the second patterned paper measuring 19.5 cms by 8.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base on the left, using foam pads.

Layer three:
Colour in the digital image, I used Promarkers.

Sand: Spice, caramel, sandstone.
Palm Tree: Chestnut, caramel, pesto, herb green, marsh green.
Flamingo: Cool grey 5, 3, antique pink. salmon pink, ruby, carmine, baby pink, almond, orange, tulip yellow.
Watermelon: Lush green, holly, olive green, crimson, lipstick red.
Shells / Starfish: Cocoa, sandstone, burgundy, shale, mango, honeycomb, cool grey 4,3.

Cut a piece from the first plain paper measuring 13.5 cms by 16.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the cloud background paper measuring 13 cms by 16 cms.
Cut around the digital image, leaving a small white border.
Matt and layer together, adding the image using foam pads.
Attach to the card base, overlapping all layers.

Layer four:
Cut out the digital sentiment and cut out a matt layer using the first plain paper.
Matt and layer together and attach to layer three.
