Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at Aud Sentiments challenge blog #273.

This is Aud Sentiments 11th Birthday so the theme for this challenge is use A Birthday Sentiment.

You can make any type of project such as a card, tag, scrapbook layout, pocket letter, box etc.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

A5 White Card
The Paper Shelter Digital Image Cupcake Birthday
Chameleon Pens
The Paper Boutique Perfect Partners – Powder Blue Paper Pad
The Paper Boutique Perfect Partners – Dusky Pink Paper Pad
The Paper Pantry – Cutting Files Special Edition Volume I Doilies
The Paper Pantry – Cutting Files Volume II
Square Dies
Black Card
White Card
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print off the digital image Cupcake Birthday and choose three papers.

Layer one:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 14 cms by 20 cms.
Cut a piece from the first paper measuring 13.5 cms by 19.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Cut two pieces from black card measuring 5 cms by 18 cms.
Cut a piece from the second paper measuring 4.5 cms by 17.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach both to the card base.

Layer three:
Colour in the digital image Cupcake Birthday, I used chameleon pens.

Skin: NU2
Hair: NU00
Hat: PK4, YL2
Top: PK4
Balloon: OR4
Cupcake: OR4, YO3, YL2, PK5, PK3, NU4

Cut the image to measure 10 cms by 10 cms.
Then using two square dies, place one inside the other and cut a piece of white card. This will cut out a frame.
Attach the frame to the digital image using foam pads.
Next cut a square from black card measuring 10.5 cms by 10.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base on the left.

Layer four:
Using the cutting file usb volume II, cut out the 6″ by 6″ banner from black card.
Then using the third paper cut out the smaller banners.
Matt and layer together and attach to the top right corner of the card base.

Layer five:
Using the cutting file usb volume II, cut out a birthday sentiment.
Cut the matt layer from black card and the sentiment from white card.
Matt and layer together and attach to the bottom left corner of layer three.

Layer six:
Using the cutting file special edition volume I, cut out a cupcake from white card.
Colour in the cupcake with Chameleon pens.

Cake Case: NU4
Cake: BR5
Icing: PK

Attach to the card base using foam pads.
