Dahlia’s Blooms – Lots Of Hugs

0 5 Comments

Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at I Love Promarkers Challenge #508.
The theme for this challenge is Anything Goes with the option of paper piecing.

You must use either promarkers, flexmarkers, aquamarkers or trias on your work.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Doodles Studios.

For my card I have used one of their digital images called Dahlia’s Blooms.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

A5 White Card Base
Digi Doodles Studios Digital Stamp Called Dahlia’s Blooms
Promarkers
The Paper Tree Halcyon Days – Decorative Papers
The Paper Tree Halcyon Days – Essential Coloured Card
The Paper Tree Halcyon Days – Die Cut Collection
The Paper Boutique Essential Nesting Dies – Volume IV
The Paper Boutique Essential Nesting Dies – Volume I
Butterfly Punch
White Card
Small Silver Gems
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print off the Dahlia’s Blooms digital image, once on to white card and again on to a patterned paper ( this is to paper pierce ).
Choose two coloured cards, two pattern papers and two sentiments.

Layer one:
Cut a piece from the first coloured card measuring 14.5 cms by 20.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the first paper measuring 14 cms by 20 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Using the large corners dies from volume I, cut two from the second paper.
Attach one to the top left and one to the bottom right corner of the card base.

Layer three:
Colour in the Dahlia’s Blooms digital image, I used promarkers.

Hat: Dusky pink, pink carnation, pale pink, honey comb, apricot.
Top: Cadet blue, grey green.
Hair: Praline, sandstone, khaki.
Skin / Face: Dusky pink, satin, dusky rose, pink carnation.
Flowers: Ginger, sunkissed pink, gold, buttercup, sunflower, lemon.
Leaves: Olive green, pesto, march green.
Butterfly / Bird: Storm cloud, cornflower, salmon pink, pale blossom, black.
Bird House: Cinnamon, raw sienna, burnt sienna, caramel, cool grey 4.

Next cut out a couple of flowers from the printed paper image.
Paper piece these onto the coloured image.

Using a die from volume IV, cut out the digital image.
Cut a piece from the second coloured card using a slightly larger die from volume IV.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base using foam pads.

Layer four:
Cut two pieces from the first coloured card measuring 2.5 cms by 5 cms.
Matt and layer with the two sentiments and attach to the card base using foam pads.
To finish add a couple of small butterflies with silver gems in the centre.

Loving the paper piecing on the flowers, that paper works really well with the rest of the colours you have used. I also love the additional butterflies!
