Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog #302.

The theme for this challenge is Fun Fold / Summer + A Sentiment.

You can make any type of project such as a card, tag, scrapbook layout, pocket letter, box etc.
The theme must be followed and a sentiment included.

I decided to make a fun fold card.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

A4 White Card
Drummer Image – CraftyArtCafe
Drum Stick Image – CraftyArtCafe
Promarkers
Grunge Papers x 2
Black Card
White Card
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the two digital images onto white card.
Type and print out a sentiment.

Card Base:

Cut a piece of white card measuring 21 cms by 23 cms.
Along the 23 cms edge score at 2 cms, 4 cms, 19 cms and 21 cms.
Then cut two pieces of white card, one measuring 21 cms by 10 cms and the other measuring 21 cms by 5 cms.
Attach the first piece the the left hand side of the main card base and the second piece to the right hand side.

Layer one:
Colour in the drummer image, I used promarker pens.

Skin : Almond, blush, pastel pink.
Hair : Raw sienna, burnt sienna.
Drums : Turquoise, marine, cool grey 2, 4.

Cut the image to measuring 20 cms by 14 cms.
Cut a piece from black card measuring 20.5 cms by 14.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the inside of the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 20.5 cms by 7.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the first paper measuring 20 cms by 7 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the inside left of the card base.

Layer three:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 20.5 cms by 2.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the first paper measuring 20 cms by 2 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the inside right of the card base.

Layer four:
Cut two pieces from the first paper measuring 2.5 cms by 14 cms.
Using foam pads, attach one to the top and one to the bottom of layer one.
Add a sentiment to the top layer.

Layer five:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 20.5 cms by 9.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the second paper measuring 20 cms by 9 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the front of the card base on the left.

Layer six:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 20.5 cms by 4.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the second paper measuring 20 cms by 4 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the front of the card base on the right.

Layer seven:
Colour in the drum stick image, I used promarker pens.

Hand : Almond, blush, pastel pink, pale blossom, dusky rose.
Wall Fragments : Plum, purple, turquoise, marine, cobalt, true blue, emerald, holly.

Cut around the image, leaving a small white border.
Attach to the front right of the card base using foam pads.

To finish add a sentiment to the front left of the card base.

I did give this card to my son for his birthday as he is a drum player and I thought this would be perfect for him.
