Live Life In Full Bloom – Hydrangea

0 7 Comments

Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at I Love Promarkers Blog Challenge #384 that starts today.

The optional theme for this challenge is flowers, but you must use either promarkers, flexmarkers, aquamarkers or trias on your work.

I have used a digi image from Ike’s Art called Hydrangea

Ike's Art, Hydrangea Flowers with butterflies

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

8″ by 8″ Scallop White Card
Ike’s Art called Hydrangea
The Paper Boutique Butterfly Ballet – Butterfly Embellishment Die Collection
The Paper Boutique Springtime Blooms – Sentiments Volume XIII
Small Butterfly Punch
15 (Approx) cms Square Die
14 (Approx) cms Square Die
White Card
Black Card
Light Pink Card
Dark Pink Card
White Pearl Beads
Small Pearl Beads
Wet Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Print the digi stamp three times and colour in with promarkers.

The promarkers used were :

Flower 1: Gold, buttercup, lemon, canary, almond, apple, meadow green, forest green.
Flower 2: Pink carnation, pink rose, pale pink, fuchsia pink, cerise, apple, meadow green, forest green.
Flower 3: Cobalt blue, arctic blue, cool aqua, french navy, sky blue, indigo blue, apple, meadow green, forest green.

Fussy cut out each flower.

Cut a square from black card measuring 19 cms by 19 cms.
Then cut a square from white card measuring 18.5 cms by 18.5 cms.
Matt and layer together.
Attach to the card base.

Next cut a square out of white card using the large square die.

Then using both square dies cut a frame out of black card.
Matt and layer this to the white square die cut using foam pads.
Attach to the card base.

Layer the flowers onto the white square frame.
Using foam pads to give depth to the flowers.

Cut a pink butterfly out using a butterfly die from the butterfly collection.
Attach to the top right corner of the white square frame.
Add small pearl beads to the butterfly body.

Then cut two small butterflies out of dark pink card using the butterfly punch.
Attach to the top left of the white square frame.

Using a sentiment from the sentiments volume XIII, cut the matt layer out of black card.
Cut the sentiment out of white card.
Matt and layer together.
Attach to the bottom left of the card base.

To finish add a couple of white pearl beads to two of the card base corners.
