Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at I Love Promarkers Blog Challenge #433 that starts today.

Our sponsor for this challenge is IkesArt.

I have used one of their digital images called Mermaid 3.

The theme for this challenge is Anything Goes with the option of Paper Piecing.

You must use either promarkers, flexmarkers, aquamarkers or trias on your work.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

A5 White Card
IkesArt Digital Image Mermaid 3
Promarkers
Debbi Moore Designs – Mermaids USB
Gold Mirri Card
White Card
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print off the digital image Mermaids 3 on to white card.
From the usb, choose and print two backing papers. Print the Mermaids image on to each of the backing papers.
Then choose a large card scene image sheet and an embellishment sheet.

Layer one:
Cut a piece from gold mirri card measuring 20.5 cms by 14.5 cms.
Cut the card front from the scene image sheet to measuring 20 cms by 14 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
From the scene image sheet cut the border strip and using foam pads attach two pieces to the top left corner of the card base.
Next from the scene image sheet cut out a dolphin and attach to the card base.

Layer three:
From the embellishment sheet, cut out two fish and two pieces of seaweed.
Attach all to the card base.

Layer four:
Colour in the skin and hair of the Mermaid digital image, I used promarkers.

Skin: Dusky Rose, blush.
Hair: Burnt umber, burnt orange, burnt sienna.

Next cut out the Mermaids tail, fins and body from the two backing papers.
Attach to the Mermaid digital image using foam pads.
This is how I have paper pieced my image.

Then cut around the image, leaving a small white border.
Attach to the card base using foam pads.
To finish add a sentiment using foam pads.
