Today’s handmade card has been created for inspiration on the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Monthly Challenge Blog.

For my card I have used one of their digital images called Seahorse Illusion.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

7″ By 7″ White Card Base
Ching-Chou Kuik‘s Digital Stamp Called Seahorse Illusion
Promarker Pens
The Crafty Witches Mermaid Sweethearts Digital Download Collection
Sweet Dixie – Smiling Starfish
Cut & Make – Starfish
White Card
Black Card
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the digital image on to white card.
Then print three patterned papers and one sentiment sheet.

Layer one:
Cut a square from black card measuring 16.5 cms by 16.5 cms.
Cut a square from the first patterned paper measuring 16 cms by 16 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 6 cms by 16.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the second patterned paper measuring 5.5 cms by 16.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach across the card base, using foam pads.

Layer three:
Colour in the digital image Seahorse Illusion, I used promarker pens.

Seahorse: Mint green, green, turquoise, metallic silver, cool grey 1, 3, black.
Hair: Tulip yellow, gold, mustard.
Skin / Face: Pastel beige, satin, champagne, dusky pink, cocktail pink, cobalt blue, true blue.
Ocean: Powder blue, sky blue, azure, pine, olive green, red berry, crimson, burnt umber.

Cut the image to measure 15.5 cms by 10.5 cms ( approx ).
Cut a piece of black card measuring 16 cms by 11 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base on the left using foam pads.

Layer four:
Cut two matt layers from black card for the sentiments.
Matt and layer with the sentiments and attach to the card base.

Layer five:
Using the starfish dies, cut two from the third patterned paper.
Attach to the card base.

To finish add an insert to the inside of the card base.
