This handmade pop up box card has been created using the wonderful new die and paper collection from Creative Crafting World called ‘Springtime Blooms’.
This is another die and paper collection from The Paper Boutique range.
Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.
A4 White Card
The Paper Boutique Springtime Blooms – Paper Kit
The Paper Boutique Springtime Blooms – Coloured Card Collection
The Paper Boutique Springtime Blooms – Floral Embellishments
The Paper Boutique Springtime Blooms – Sentiment Volume XIII
Acetate
Pearl beads
Wet Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads
Score the a4 white card at 10 cms on the longest length.
Turn the card to the shortest length and score at 7 cms, 14 cms, 21 cms and 28 cms.
These measurement will leave a 1.5 cms at the end of the card.
The white card now has a top measuring approximately 10 cms and a bottom measuring approximately 11 cms.
At the top of the card cut down all score lines to the centre score line. On the last one cut the 1.5 cm piece off at the center score line. This will give you four separate tops.
Fold down three of the tops, leaving the fourth one standing.
Glue the bottom 1.5 cm tab to the other side of the card to make the box shape.
Next cut two pieces of card measuring 11 cms by 5 cms.
On the 10 cm length score 2 cms on each end and fold.
Add glue to the folded ends and attach each to the inside of the pop up box card. This is where all embellishments are attached.
You can add more to the inside if you are adding smaller embellishments.
Matts, Layers and Embellishments:
Using the light lilac card from the coloured card collection cut three pieces measuring 9 cms by 6 cms.
Using a paper from the paper kit cut three pieces measuring 8.5 cms by 5.5 cms.
Matt and layer these together and attach to the top fold down layers.
Using the light lilac card from the coloured card collection cut two piece measuring 20 cms by 6 cms.
Using the paper from the paper kit cut a piece measuring 19.5 cms by 5.5 cms.
Then using white card cut a piece measuring 19.5 cms by 5.5 cms.
Matt and layer the paper piece to the lilac card and then matt and layer the white card to the other piece of lilac card.
Attach the paper matt and layer to the inside of the pop up box card and the white matt and layer to the back of the box card.
The outside layer is the place for your message.
Next using the Floral embellishment dies cut seven flowers out using the two shades of lilac card and white card.
Then using the matt layer dies cut out different coloured matts for the flower die cuts.
Matt and layer together and attach a pearl bead to the center of the flowers.
Once dry add six flowers to a strip of acetate.
The acetate helps to attach embellishments to the inside of the pop up box card and it also helps to get different heights.
Next attach the flowers to the inside strips of the pop up box.
You will need to decide whether to add these to the front of the inside strips or the back of the inside strips.
It all depends on where you would like your embellishments to sit.
Attach two flowers to the front of the pop up box card using foam pads.
Using a sentiment from Sentiment Volume XIII, cut the matt layer out in the deep lilac card.
Cut the sentiment out in white card.
Matt and layer together and attach to the front of the pop up box card using foam pads.
