Today’s handmade card has been created for the new challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog #314.

The theme for this challenge is Shaker Card and or Summer + A Sentiment.

You can make any type of project such as a card, tag, scrapbook layout, pocket letter, box etc.
The theme must be followed and a sentiment included.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

A5 White Card
Dij – Eez Digital Designs – Free Surfing Frog Image
Promarker Pens
Etsy – Summer Surfing Digital Papers
The Crafty Witches – Essential Sentiments Volume 1 Digital Download Collection
Black Card
Acetate
Circle Dies
Small Beads
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the image on to white card.
Choose and print three papers and two sentiment.

Layer one:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 14.5 cms by 20.5 cms.
Cut a piece from the first paper measuring 14 cms by 20 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 14.5 cms by 9 cms.
Cut a piece from the second paper measuring 14.5 cms by 8.5 cms.
Matt and layer it together and attach to the card base on the left.

Layer three:
Cut a piece from black card measuring 14.5 cms by 4 cms.
Cut a piece from the first paper measuring 14.5 cms by 3.5 cms.
Matt and layer it together and attach to layer two using foam pads.

Layer four:
Using black card, lay two different size circle dies together and run through a cutting machine.
Using the outer circle die cut, attach to acetate and add foam pads.
Next cut out a circle from the third paper.
Lay a few beads on the circle paper and then attach the black circle.
Attach to the card base.

Layer five:
Colour in the Surfing Frog digital image, I used promarker pens.

Frog: Apple, pine, emerald.
Shorts: Sunflower, mango.
Surf Board: Burnt orange, chestnut, burnt sienna.
Water: Azure, cobalt, midnight blue.

Cut around the surfing frog image, leaving a small white border.
Attach to the card base using foam pads.

Layer six:
Add the two sentiments to the card base, one at the top and one at the bottom.

To finish add an insert to the inside of the card base
