Todays handmade card tutorial is a lantern card using the Wild & Wonderful paper collection from Creative Crafting World.
This card folds flat and fits into a 6” by 6” envelope.
You will need :
12” By 12” White Card
The Paper Boutique Wild & Wonderful – Coloured Card
The Paper Boutique Wild & Wonderful – Embellishment Pad
The Paper Boutique Wild & Wonderful – Topper and Paper Pad
The Paper Boutique Essential Nesting Dies Volume I
Satin Ribbon
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads
Hole Punch
Layer one:
Cut two squares from white card measuring 15 cms by 15 cms.
Cut a square from coloured card measuring 14.5 cms by 14.5 cms.
Attach to the first 15 cms square.
Using one of the circle dies, cut a circle from white card.
Matt and layer with a circle topper and attach to the centre of the first square, using foam pads.
Layer two:
Cut two pieces of white card measuring 2 cms by 8.5 cms.
Cut two circles from white card, using a 3.5 cm circle die.
Cut one circle from white card, using a 2.5 cm circle die.
Cut two pieces from coloured card measuring 1.5 cms by 8 cms.
Attach to the two strips.
Next attach the two strips together, across each other and punch a hole in the centre.
Then cut coloured matts for one of the larger circles and the smaller circle.
Attach the two circles together and punch a hole in the centre.
Layer three:
Cut out four pieces of white card measuring 30 cms by 5 cms.
Score and fold each piece at 5 cms, 10 cms, 15 cms, 20 cms and 25 cms.
Cut twenty squares from two different coloured cards measuring 4.5 cms by 4.5 cms.
Cut ten squares from two patterned papers measuring 4 cms by 4 cms.
Cut two squares from the animal patterned paper measuring 4 cms by 4 cms.
Next cut out eight small toppers.
Matt and layer the small toppers and patterned papers with the coloured card.
Attach a matt layer onto the first side of the four pieces of card.
Leaving one white square at the bottom of each.
Next cut twenty squares from two different coloured cards measuring 4.5 cms by 4.5 cms.
Cut ten squares from patterned paper measuring 4 cms by 4 cms.
Matt and layer the patterned papers with ten of the coloured card squares.
Attach to the otherside, leaving one white square at the bottom of each.
Next attach each strip to the underneath of the matted square base from layer one.
Layer four:
Cut a square from coloured card measuring 14.5 cms by 14.5 cms.
Cut a square from coloured card measuring 10.5 cms by 10.5 cms.
Cut a square from white card measuring 10 cms by 10 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the second square.
Attach the square to the underneath of the card base.
Here a message can be written.
Layer five:
Attach the strips from layer two to the centre of the top squares.
Next attach some ribbon through the circle layer and thread through the centre of the strips.
Attach the ribbon underneath adding the second circle.
