World Wildlife – Margay

0 9 Comments

This card has been made using the World Wildlife dvd rom by Pollyanna Pickering and Creative Crafting World.

The image is of a Margay cat, which is a small cat native to Central and South America.

For this card design I decided to make an easel card.

Materials used:

8″ by 8″ white scallop card
World Wildlife dvd rom
The paper boutique nested Thank you die set
The paper boutique sentiments collection 2
White card
Green card
Small butterfly die
Leaf die
Small green pearls
Foam pads
Glue

Instructions:

Print off an image and two different papers from the dvd rom.

Score the front of the 8″ by 8″ white scallop card in half and then fold. This will make the easel part of the card.

Next with one of the papers cut two pieces measuring approx,  19 cms by 9 cm and a 19 cm by 19 cm.

Using these two pieces glue the smaller one to the front fold (this is the section of card where the topper will be placed onto).

Glue the larger piece to the bottom of your easel (this is the section that would normally be the inside of the card but as we are making an easel card it becomes the base).

Cut a piece of the chosen paper, measuring approx 14 cms by 8 cms and then a piece of white card measuring approx 12 cms by 6 cms. Matt and layer these together (white card on top). Attach foam pads to this and place on to the bottom of the easel card. (Please see picture for ref).
This has now made a stopper for the easel card, as the front will sit perfectly behind this.

With the other paper cut out the decorative die from the paper boutique and then using white card cut out the matt layer and then glue these together.

Next layer on the topper using glue. (For my card I used a stacker image so I already have abit of height to my card, if you have chosen a flat image I would suggest that you use foam pads to attach the topper)
With foam pads attached this to the top of the easel at a slight angle.

Using the leaf die, cut out five in one of the papers and five out of green card. Glue two of each to the corner of the topper and then one of each to the base of the easel card. (Please see picture for ref)

Cut out a sentiment, using green for the base layer and one of the papers for the sentiment. Using foam pads attach this to the bottom corner of the topper.

Add a couple of die cut butterflies and green pearls to finish off the card.
