Best of Breeds : West Highland Terrier

0 11 Comments

Todays card has been made using Sketch Book Chapter VII Best Of Breeds cd rom.

The images on the cd rom are all by Pollyanna Pickering and what stunning images they all are.

This card is also for my daughters 23rd birthday, she just adores these dogs and has always said when she’s ready this is the dog she will be getting.  I’m pretty sure she won’t just be getting one…

Here are the instructions and measurements for making this card.

You will need:

Sketch Book Chapter VII Best Of Breeds cd rom
1 x 8″ by 8″ White Scallop card
A4 White Card
White Ribbon
3 x Different Sized Flower Dies
1 x Scalloped Oval Die
3 x Purple Gems
Foam Pads
Wet Glue

Instructions:

Firstly decide on the image and papers you would like to use. I used the Westie dog oval image, a flower paper and a plain paper from the cd rom.

Cut a square from the purple paper measuring approx 19cms by 19cms and then cut a piece of white card measuring approx 18.5cms by 18.5cms.
Matt and layer these two pieces on to your white card base.

Next cut a square from the flower paper measuring approx 16cms by 16cms. Attach with foam pads to your card base.

Then cut two stripes of the purple paper measuring approx 14.5cms by 4cms.
Attach white ribbon to these two pieces. Please see image for reference.
Using foam pads attach both of these to your card base. Lay one at the bottom of the flower paper and then the other one to the right of your card, slightly overlapping the bottom piece.

Cut the scalloped oval die shape out of white card. Matt and layer this with your chosen image, using foam pads.
Attach this to your card using foam pads.

Use the largest flower die to cut a flower out of the purple paper, cut two of the medium size flower die out of the purple paper and then three of the smallest flower die out in white card.
Matt and layer the flower by adding the white flower to the inside of the purple flower.
Attach these to your card and to finish off the flowers, add a matching purple gem.

Please feel free to use these and any of my other instructions.

Beautiful card congrats on your win. I had to find out where the image was from as I had a Westie for 15.5 years such wonderful dogs your daughter has made a good choice.
