Big Pumpkin – Happy Birthday

0 4 Comments

Today’s handmade card has been created for inspiration on the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Monthly Challenge Blog.

For my card I have used one of their digital images called Big Pumpkin.

You can find more of Ching-Chou Kuik’s wonderful images here in their Etsy shop, Gjzcck.

Handmade card using a digital image from Ching-Chou Kuik called Big Pumpkin

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

8″ By 8″ White Card Base
Ching-Chou Kuik‘s Digital Stamp Called Big Pumpkin
Promarker Pens
White Card
The Crafty Witches – Fall For Autumn Digital Download Collection
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the digital image Big Pumpkin on to white card.
From the digital download take a snapshot of the tree topper and print at 200%.
Then print one plain coloured paper and one sentiment sheet.

Layer one:
Cut a square from plain coloured paper measuring 19.5 cms by 19.5 cms.
Cut a square from white paper measuring 19 cms by 19 cms.
Cut the tree topper to measure 18 cms by 18 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Colour in the image Big Pumpkin, I used promarker pens.

Hair: Warm grey 1, 3, 5.
Face / Skin: Satin, champagne, tulip yellow, pumpkin, herb green, olive green.
Clothes: Firebrick, crimson, burgundy, sunflower, gold, mustard, honeycomb.
Wings: Ice grey 1, 3, 5, terracotta, raw sienna.
Cat: Ice grey 1, 3, 5, olive green, black, antique pink.
Pumpkin: Mango, pumpkin, mandarin, sunflower, tulip yellow.

Cut around the image leaving a small white border.
Cut a piece of white card measuring 12 cms by 5 cms.
Then score and fold at 1.5 cms and 3 cms each end.
Attach the 1.5 cms edges to the card base.
Then add the image to the front fold.
This will then allow the image to fold flat to fit into an envelope but pop up when sat on a shelve.

Layer three:
From the plain coloured paper cut out two matt layers for two sentiments.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base using foam pads.

To finish add an insert to the inside of the card base.
