Today’s handmade card has been created for inspiration on the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Monthly Challenge Blog.

For my card I have used one of their digital images called Fly High.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

8″ By 8″ White Card Base
Ching-Chou Kuik‘s Digital Stamp Called Fly High
Promarker Pens
White Card
The Paper Boutique A Whisper Of Autumn Paper Collection
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the digital image on to white card.
Then choose three pattern papers, one plain coloured paper and one sentiment.

Layer one:
Cut a square from plain coloured paper measuring 19.5 cms by 19.5 cms.
Cut a square from the first pattern paper measuring 19 cms by 19 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from white card measuring 19.5 cms by 12.5 cms.
Cut a piece from plain coloured paper measuring 19.5 cms by 12 cms.
Cut a piece from the second pattern paper measuring 19.5 cms by 11.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer three:
Cut a piece from white card measuring 15 cms by 12.5 cms.
Cut a piece from plain coloured paper measuring 14.5 cms by 12 cms.
Cut a piece from the second pattern paper measuring 14 cms by 11.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base using foam pads.

Layer four:
Colour in the image, I used promarker pens.

Hair: Caramel, saddle brown, burnt sienna.
Face / Skin: Pastel pink, champagne, satin, almond, cocktail pink, azure.
Clothes: Apricot, mango, mandarin.
Owl: Ice grey 1, 3, 5. tulip yellow, amber.
Wood / Leaves: Marsh green, olive green, sunkissed pink, coral.

Cut around the image, leaving a small white border.
Then attach to layer three.

Layer five:
Cut a piece from white card measuring 4 cms by 7 cms.
Cut a piece from plain coloured paper measuring 3.5 cms by 6.5 cms.
Matt and layer together along with the sentiment.
Attach to the card base using foam pads.

To finish add an insert to the inside of the card base.
