Today’s handmade pop up box has been made using a digital download paper collection called Feline Fine from The Crafty Witches.
Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.
A4 White Card
The Crafty Witches – Feline Fine
Adobe Acrobat ( Or other similar program )
Corner Punch
Wet Glue / Double Sided Tape
Glue Gun
Choose three patterned papers, one plain paper and three sentiments.
One of the patterned papers needs to be the flower paper.
With this paper, enlarge the flowers so they can be cut out.
To do this change the size on the paper in Adobe Acrobat ( before printing ) to 350% and print.
Then cut out a few of the flowers.
For the cat images, take a snapshot of the circle cat topper.
To do this click on Edit in Adobe Acrobat.
Click on More > click on Take A Snapshot.
Highlight around the circle topper.
Click Print > change the size to 200% and Print.
Cut around a few of the cat images and attach to some acetate strips.
Pop Up Box:
Score the A4 white card at 10 cms on the shortest edge.
This leaves 10 cms at the top and 11 cms at the bottom.
Score along the longest edge at 7 cms, 14 cms, 21 cms and 28 cms.
Leaving a tab at the end of the card.
Cut away the top half of the tab.
Cut down all the top score lines to the centre score line.
Then fold all the bottom score lines.
Fold three of the tops down at the front of the card base, leaving the fourth one standing.
Next attach the tab to the other side of the card base to make the pop up box shape.
For the inside, cut three pieces of card measuring 10 cms by 4 cms.
Along the 10 cm edge score at 1.5 cms on each end and fold.
Attach each to the inside of the pop up box card. This is where all embellishments are attached.
Then using the corner punch round off the corners of the top sections.
Layer one:
Cut three pieces of plain paper measuring 9.5 cms by 6.5 cms.
Cut three pieces of patterned paper measuring 9 cms by 6 cms.
Using the corner punch, round off two corners of each of the papers.
Matt and layer together and attach to the top folds of the pop up box.
Layer two:
Cut three pieces of patterned paper measuring 10.5 cms by 6.5 cms.
Attach to the bottom sections of the pop up box.
Cut one piece of patterned paper measuring 9.5 cms by 6.5 cms.
Using the corner punch round off two of the corners.
Then attach to the top section of the pop up box.
Layer three:
Cut a piece from plain paper measuring 20.5 cms by 6.5 cms.
Cut a piece from white card measuring 20 cms by 6 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the back of the pop up box.
This is where a message can be added.
Layer four:
Attach the flowers, sentiments and cats to the inside strips of the pop up box.
Add some to the front of the pop up box, using foam pads.
Once finished this pop up box card then folds flat to fit into an A5 envelope.
