Hold A Poppy – Warmest Wishes

Today’s handmade card has been created for inspiration on the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Monthly Challenge Blog.

For my card I have used one of their digital images called Hold A Poppy.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

8″ By 8″ White Card Base
Ching-Chou Kuik‘s Digital Stamp Called Hold A Poppy
Promarker Pens
White Card
The Crafty Witches Poppy Meadow Digital Download Collection
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Print the digital image on to white card.
Then print two pattern papers, one plain coloured paper and one sentiment sheet.

Layer one:
Cut a square from plain coloured paper measuring 19.5 cms by 19.5 cms.
Cut a square from white card measuring 19 cms by 19 cms.
Cut a square from the first pattern paper measuring 18.5 cms by 18.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a square from white card measuring 15 cms by 15 cms.
Cut a square from the second pattern paper measuring 14.5 cms by 14.5 cms.
Cut each square in half from corner to corner, making triangles.
Matt and layer one of each together.
Then attach to the top left of the card base using foam pads.

Layer three:
Colour in the image, I used promarker pens.

Skin / Face: Satin, champagne, almond, sunkissed pink, crimson, ivory, poppy, chestnut, burnt sienna.
Hair: Cool grey 1, 2, 5.
Clothes: Cerise, antique pink, carmine.
Poppies / Leaves: Red, poppy, crimson, herb green, pear green, pesto.
Owl: Saddle brown, caramel, burnt umber, chestnut, apricot, tulip yellow.

Cut a piece from plain coloured paper measuring 13 cms by 11 cms.
Cut the image to measure 12.5 cms by 10.5 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base using foam pads.

Layer four:
Cut a piece from white card measuring 2.7 cms by 7 cms.
Cut out a sentiment.
Matt and layer together and attach to the card base using foam pads.

To finish add an insert to the inside of the card base.
