Today’s handmade card has been created using It’s A Dogs Life paper collection from Creative Crafting World.

This card design is called a swing card.

Here is a tutorial on how I created this card.

You will need :

2 x A4 White Card
The Paper Boutique It’s A Dogs Life – Coloured Card Collection
The Paper Boutique It’s A Dogs Life – Paper Kit With Toppers
The Paper Boutique A5/A4 Concept Die Collection
Pearl Beads
Glue / Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

Instructions:

Choose two coloured cards, one patterned paper and a square topper.

Card Shape:
Cut a piece of A4 white card using the A5 outer die, square die and one score die.

Keep the square card that falls out to use later.

Next cut a piece of A4 white card using the A5 outer die and three score dies.

Cut one of the panels off, leaving three panels.

Card base one:

Layer one:
Cut a piece from the first coloured card measuring 17.5 cms by 12.5 cms.
Attach to the inside of the card base.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from the second coloured card measuring 4 cms by 12 cms.
Cut a piece from the paper measuring 3.5 cms by 12 cms.
Matt and layer together and attach to the front of the card base at the top.

Layer three:
Cut a piece from the second coloured card measuring 4 cms by 12 cms.
Cut a piece from the first coloured card measuring 3.5 cms by 12 cms.
Using low tack tape attach three embellishments from the concept die collection and run through a die cutting machine.

Then matt and layer together and add pearl beads.
Attach to the front of the card base at the bottom.

Card Base Two:

Layer one:

Cut three pieces from the first coloured card measuring 17.5 cms by 6 cms.
Cut three pieces from the paper measuring 17 cms by 5.5 cms.
Matt and layer together.

Attach to the second card base.

Next attach one panel to the inside of card base one on the edge.

Layer two:
Cut a piece from the first coloured card measuring 8.5 cms by 8.5 cms.
Matt and layer this to the white square from the first card base.
Then attach the square topper using foam pads.
Next attach the topper to the left panel.
To get this in the correct position, close the card up and fit the topper layer back in the square hole where the white square was cut out.
